I listen to a lot of music in my downtime and I'm always on the lookout (listenout?) for something new! What is currently rocking everyone's ipod and/or record player?? I currently can't get enough Band of Horses or Adele. Especially Rolling in the Deep! Other honourable mentions: The Dudes Mother Mother (AWESOME band from one of the Gulf Islands here in BC) and this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWzUT_4UbUI

My newest music love is the Decemberists, and my default always-awesome is the Barenaked Ladies. My music collection isn't especially varied, so I get the feeling I'll be stalking this thread for suggestions. (I'm listening to Rolling in the Deep right now and it's pretty good. )

I love love love Gogol Bordello. They're definitely one of my favorite bands - they're hitting Austin in April and I am SO. EXCITED. to *finally* see them live! (This'll be the third time they've been in Austin since we moved here, and we've missed the other two times due to various circumstances.)
My all-time favorite band is the Clash - I recommend their first three albums.
Other than that, here's a few popular things from my mp3 player - a lot of it is punk or ska ish, but some is random:
The Soviettes, Atom and His Package (one guy with a synthesizer singing about mostly silly things, including why the US should convert to metric), B52s, Balkan Beat Box (kind of like Gogol Bordello but more hip-hop influenced, I'd say), Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution (acoustic ska w/the same head guy as Streetlight Manifesto), Bedouin Soundclash, the Bouncing Souls, Imogen Heap, the Ting Tings, Catch 22, Flogging Molly, Dillinger Four, the Epoxies, Head Automatica, Joan Jett, the Killers, the Matches, MIA, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, the Phenomenauts, the Ramones (of course!), Selby Tigers, Streetlight Manifesto, the Mad Caddies (my fave album is Just One More - very swing-ish ska), the Weakerthans, X, X-Ray Spex, Le Tigre.
Whew!

I listen to so much music I couldn't name it all, but lately I've been very folky/rocky/bluesy. I'm particularly taken with the Civil Wars and Lissie, but I listen quite a bit to Mumford & Sons, Neko Case, Bess Rogers, Ainjel Emme, Band of Horses, the Americana-esque albums of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Mountain Goats, and probably my favorite band for the last few years: the Heartless Bastards.

I love the Civil Wars! I've been listening to Plushgun, The Rescues, Kate Earl, Regina Spektor, Elbow, Richard Thompson, Seabear, and Annie Little lately. Whenever I want free music, I usually just surf the free songs on Amazon.

Am I totally lame for promoting myself here? You can hear my stuff here: http://nikibecker.bandcamp.com/As for what music I can't get enough of: Anything by The National. Seriously. Anything. Best. Band. Ever. Also: She & Him , any incarnation of Jenny Lewis. The new PJ Harvey is fantastic, as is the new Radiohead. Vyvienne Long, Regina Spektor, Lucy Michelle...so much good stuff out there.
