Confession:

I don't really know how to walk in heels (unless you count wedges)

I only recently learned how to apply eyeliner

I pretty much never pluck my eyebrows

Are there any "traditional" lady things that you don't know how to do?

I second you on the eyebrows thing. Thank god my eyebrows behave on their own!

I am also completely foreign to the concept of waxing. Anything.

And I can't curl my hair to save my life. Other people can curl my hair, but not me. Don't know why.

*I hate plucking and will only get a wax when it gets REALLY bad.

*I just learned how to walk in heels last year

*I detest shaving my legs and only do it about once a month

*I just started wearing mascara but still don't wear it if I have to work 14 hour days

I am at a complete loss as to how to do a "smokey eye".

I can't paint my nails well or keep them from chipping for more than a couple hours.

I have no patience for blow-drying or hair styling of any kind.

& I, too, avoid shaving whenever possible. (That's the one upside to winter!)

As luck would have it (for this thread, anyway) my life is made up of Ladyhood Fails :)

It took me a long time to accept that I'm just my own kind of girl - different, but not wrong. And thank goodness!

Major Fails:

- I hate shaving. My legs regularly go months without a razor touching them, and the older I get the more often I neglect my underarms. It feels like it's more okay to not shave legs, but still pretty "gross" to not shave your underarms. In any case, I can be pretty darn beastly :) I didn't shave all winter, hahaha. And my husband doesn't mind a bit.

- I've only worn a dress twice in the last 4 years. And it was the same dress. And only one of those times I wore heels with the dress. Me in heels is a very scary, and dangerous thing.

- I have a makeup bag full of makeup but never wear any of it. But! I will say that when I do actually wear makeup I do utilize an eyelash curler (somehow I think that earns me some Ladyhood points).

- I am useless with a hairdryer. I end up looking like I got electrocuted.

- I can't put together an outfit to save my life. My wardrobe is full of plain, solid colored t-shirts or sweaters and jeans. Don't ask me to get creative with my outfits because, no, my brain doesn't work that way.

- In the same realm, I can't accessorize. I love cute earrings and necklaces and the like, but get totally overwhelmed at deciding what would look good with what and instead abandon the idea. Sigh.

- I burp constantly (but not in public - I do recognize that it isn't always appropriate).

There are so many other things, lol. So many :)

All my best...

I've actually become fairly ladylike in the past year or so; now that my boys are kids rather than babies, and starting to act rather...well, boyish...I feel the need to balance out all the testosterone in my life with some straight-up girliness. If I thought I could pull off wearing a tutu in public, I would. But I started wearing sundresses in the summer, painting my toenails fun colors, wearing at least a little bit of makeup every day, and ALWAYS having either a necklace or earrings on when I leave the house. (Never both!)
My fingernails however, are a disgrace. They chip within an hour of painting them, always. Even the last professional manicure I got, for my BIL's wedding, I had to touch up at least twice - the first day. And my nails grow fast, but break really easily, so they're never all the same length. I remember having to get one single tip for my prom because one nail had broken down to the skin but the rest were long.
Also? I've had my nails done professionally exactly 4 times, ever: prom, my wedding, my sister's wedding, my BIL's wedding. That's it. I've had one pedicure (BIL's wedding), no facials, one massage, and I get my hair cut maybe once a year.

It wasn't until I was in college that I learned that if you fill a bubble bath BEFORE getting in, the bubbles won't dissolve right away.

I spent most of my childhood and teenage years basically as messy-haired asexual being. It wasn't until I started college that I began using make-up and dresses and skirts, but I still have a lot to learn. For instance, I am a disaster when it comes to:

- Shaving and waxing. I will often only shave one leg, leaving the other in its hairy glory because I wear jeans most of the time anyway. I am dead scared of waxing the bikini area.
- I olympically fail at applying make-up around the eye area. Mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow... Whatever.
- High heels. Just no.
- Flirting. Am I supposed to wink at that cute guy? No? Then what do I DO?

Aw, man. Like, everything perplexes me. After a multi-year hiatus I am back to attempting to be a ladylike creature.
-Shaving. Only worth it for special occasions, and even then it is company dependent. Same with high heels.
-Other methods of hair removal? What? This happens? Dear god, WHY??
-Liquid eyeliner. I am not sure if it is my hand that is jonky or if it is my eyes that are.
-Hair styling. I've used my $5 hair dryer once in the last six years, and it was to dry out the carpet after a spill.
-Farting. I do it, and I often think it is funny. Unless it's one of those Shaved and Heels events.
-Underarm sweat. I just don't know how to be ladylike with pads stuck in the arms of my blouse. :(

I'm one of the biggest girly-girls you might ever possibly meet. Fancy dresses, red lipstick, sparkly jewelry, yes please! BUT...

I have no idea how to style my hair. I'm the only person I know who doesn't own a straightener or a curling iron. I've tried hot rollers and ended up with a hot mess. I love my hair, and thankfully, all it needs is a hair dryer and some argan oil. But then I see girls with gorgeous bouncy curls that are obviously the product of heat styling and I'm like, "Why can't *I* do that?"

I can walk in heels, but I SO much prefer not to. Freedom of movement = sexy. Give me ballet flats or give me death! Plus I'm tall, so heels make me feel like an awkward giant. I've started wearing low wedges lately, though, and I adore them.

And you guys? I have no idea how to cook. I've mastered an eyelash curler but can't master a stove. We can't all be good at everything :)
